on the Internet meant sharing dial up accounts, extremely long download
and upload times of art files and getting disconnected from lack of
activity. These problems are all things of the past thanks to STI’s
GigaSkyNet Wireless Access.
Our unique combination of MAC's and PC's on the same server posed
no problems for the installation crew who not only performed a fast,
clean installation but also had all computers on-line the same afternoon.
Now everyone is online all day and downloading big art files takes
seconds.

have been anxiously waiting for high-speed access here in the mountains.
When I heard that GigaSkyNet was available I jumped at it, boy am
I ever glad I did. I was expecting a fairly nice speed increase
but nothing like what I have seen.
I used to have an ISDN connection to the Internet, averaging 115k,
but now I have a connection that averages T1 speeds.I have done
multiple speed tests over the Internet and they are never below
1250k and there are times it reports 'infinite loop', which means
the connection is so fast that the program can't verify the end
result.
I have downloaded
multiple 20 meg files in just about a minute, what a huge difference
this makes when one is trying to get patches, games, mpegs, wav's,
or movies from the Internet. I even downloaded a 600 meg file in
about 35 minutes. Just for fun I wanted to see how long it would
have taken on my old ISDN connection, after about an hour of downloading
it still reported that I had 25 hours before completion. That alone
sold me on the GigaSkyNet technology!
Browsing is so fast that the pages are displayed almost faster than
they can be drawn on the screen. I have seen pages come up in just
two seconds on my screen, those at Sierra Tel come up in about a
second.
GigaSkyNet is a great value and I would highly recommend it even
for the casual surfer since it makes surfing so much more fun, relaxing,
and productive.

We
love our new GigaSkyNet system. As a small business, we strive to
utilize tools that are both cost effective and efficient. GigaSkyNet
does just that. The high-speed connection saves us lots of time sending
and receiving large graphic files from our customers and venders.
A recent upload of a 10 MB file took just under 2 minutes. Wow. This
also freed up a phone line as we are no longer using the dial-up connection
for e-mail or Internet purposes. I also like the low profile of the
outside antenna. Thanks again for bringing affordable, high-speed
access to the area.
